Metro Junction Mall is an operational retail development located in Kalyan, a suburb situated on the outskirts of Mumbai. Traditionally, the micro market housed several manufacturing units which, in the recent few years, have shifted out, paving the way for rejuvenation for residential developments. Metro Junction Mall is the largest organized retail development catering to the residents. It was designed as an open-air center housing several large-format / discount stores. However, over the years, a shift in shopping preferences of the target population led to a need for a premium shopping experience.

Bentel Associates assisted the mall owner with changes to the space-planning and store sizes to optimise the retail mall, increase footfalls and revenues. A large open-air circular plaza was covered with a tensile roof, thereby providing protection from inclement weather. The plaza can, therefore, be used for events, brand promotions and pop-ups. The food-court was completely refurbished to provide a bright, airy and premium experience with additional seating. The overall common public areas of the mall were also refreshed.
