Accra Mall is the first retail project of its kind and scale in Ghana. Potential customers were not familiar with the large-scale format of shopping malls and there was a general lack of resources in the region.

Therefore, the design demanded easy usability, good orientation and energy efficiency. The layout of Accra Mall responds to the site. A showroom is located at road level with retail and parking facilities above. Internal features include open skylights that introduce natural light into the space, a water treatment facility, and a structural design that meets earthquake zone requirements.
