Manda Hill is situated at the Corner of Manchinchi and Great East Roads, opposite the Lusaka Show Grounds. The original Manda Hill retail structure was a 20 000 m2 upmarket shopping complex with a wide range of stores including banks, bookshops, internet cafés, furniture shops, restaurants, fast-food outlets and a huge Shoprite supermarket. The layout was a strip retail facility with two large anchors on either end.
Bentel completed the 15,000sqm extension that includes additional infrastructure and the addition of about 30 stores including Game, PEP, Mr. Price, Woolworths, Ellerines and a Link Pharmacy.
The structural changes involved changing the pre-existing external strip shopping facility to an internal mall by means of the addition of a two-level retail component in the central area between the two anchors. It also includes a large food court extending into a new external piazza.
The re-design and upgrade of the existing façade includes a grand colonnade that runs the full length of the front facade. This colonnade has become the threshold and design feature for the whole centre.
