Shopping malls were a relatively new phenomenon in India when UB City was designed. Bentel’s expertise in retail design and construction was therefore highly valued in the Indian market. UB City is an 88 000 m² mixed-use development in the commercial IT centre of Bangalore.

It has 15 000 m² of high end retail space, with the interiors being designed in a Tuscan Italianate vernacular style. The Interiors of UB City are heavily influenced by neo classicism with soaring arches, high vaulted ceilings and a grand marble staircase which makes a welcoming announcement as one enters this unique space. The rich patina of the marble finishes, the colourful images framed by ornate plaster mouldings, subtle lighting and warm textured wall surfaces offers a pleasing contrast to the modernism of the famous international retailers present here.
